Loccia de Pica-Pica (Rice with Spicy Sardines)
If you have been visiting us for a long time you will have noticed that I modify many of our traditional recipes to make them healthier, and sometimes, to add more vegetables in their preparation. It is noted in this Locrio de Pica-Pica (Rice with Spicy Sardines). There is a reason for this: it is the way we eat at home.
After all, vegetables are not something I eat because I should, but because I like them
Somewhere in the phrase "eat colorful", and wow if it is not the perfect way to describe my food. Vegetables not only add vital nutrients to our food, but texture and flavor. The original version of this dish usually does not include carrots or beans, but is not it better for me this way?
At least to me, I love it.
And if you are one of those who enjoy spicy food, this dish is perfect for you.
The Locrio de Pica-Pica (Rice with Spicy Sardines) has a spicy touch.
Humble and often vexed. This simple dish is the preferred option when the kitchen has a limited budget. For many it is one of their favorite dishes.
If you have a deja vu feeling, do not worry, this recipe has been in our collection for many years, but I decided to revisit it to make new photos and write the recipe in a simpler and clearer way.
