Ice Cream of Potecitos

Any Dominican of my generation will feel nostalgia when reading the words "Ice cream of Potecito". It's hard to understand if you did not grow up in the Dominican Republic of my time. And I think this is the perfect way to fire the summer.
You know what I mean?

Well, children, sit around Aunt Cara. Let me tell you about the old days, the 70s and 80s ... and the 2000s, and, forget it. You can still buy Ice Cream from Potecito in many Dominican neighborhoods.
Potecito ice cream, like many other Dominican homemade industries (ice, juices, ice cream, fried foods, leaf cakes, etc.) is a way for housewives to contribute to the family budget, and in many cases supports the whole family. It is also a fantastic form of recycling: the pots had to be returned. Fruit ice creams in small pots for baby food, and were the perfect way to spend our cheles on those days.
We have turned many of these ice creams into palettes and written the recipes: such as coconut , sweet potato and coconut , and the popular " frescavena " of our day.
Summer would not have been the same without these ricuras, and that our children probably will not enjoy. That's why I'm obsessed with creating the palettes with the flavors of my childhood, and for my daughter to try them.

I have to confess that this is not so much a recipe as a guide, an invitation to introduce you to the wonder of my childhood, particularly because this is pure fruit, and without added sugar.
The only problem is that we ate them all at one sitting.

Potecito ice cream, Recipe: A tradition of childhood and an excellent way to serve fruits in the summer. And it does not carry added sugar.
